Mandrels
are used for turning milling, grinding, gear cutting and inspection
operations.
Because of the interchangeable components(sleeves,
pistons and workstop plates), only three arbors are needed to allow
this mandrel to be used for workpiece diameters ranging from 20
to 81mm. Sleeve expandibility is 0.5 to 1mm according to diameter.
The workpiece is clamped with the aid of either a rear drawbolt
or a key. The piston tightens within the drawbolt, which is held
in a fixed position by a washer and a nut. Because the sleeve does
not move in relation to the body, the workpiece is not actuated
by the workstop when clamped. The sleeve can hold along the entire
length of the piston, which means short of the workpiece can be
machined. |
